ReVolt Downloads (formerly Racers Point) was a major hub in the Re-Volt community. It held a plethora of knowledge within its forums, much of it is now lost since the site closed down.

The site was created at June 22nd, 1999 by Wayne LeMonds. At the time it was known as Racers Point and became ReVolt Downloads on August 24th, 2002. The site had remained on the scene until August 1st, 2004.

Wayne made his official announcement on December 3rd, 2003 that he would not renew his subscription with his host and the post is as follows:

The Countdown HAS Begun.... December 3, 2003

I thought I would go ahead and let everyone know now, to give others time to plan,

that on August 1, 2004 my yearly subscription to my host will end. I have decided not to renew.

Therefore on August 1, 2004 this site will close down.

I have not decided on what to do with the forum. If you think you can host the forum reliably with sufficient space and traffic limits then please contact me to discuss. You will need to have at least 1 GB of hosting space and at least 10 GB traffic limit. The more the better.

Thanks to everyone who have stuck through things all these years, from Acclaim no longer producing PC games and not wanting to make another Revolt game to a supposed company wanting to resurrect it. All in a span of 4 years. I never thought the creativity would continue like it has all this time. Even the original developers are still amazed, even though they have moved on to other things.

My decision was not a spur of the moment thing and it is final. I have been thinking about this for at least a year. I almost didn't renew my subscription this past year but the supposed resurrection project came about and thought I needed to be around. Well, that died as fast as it was announced and I feel I need to move on. If another game comes about like ReVolt I may bring a new website for that, but, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

So, I will continue to take submissions till at least May 1, 2004 before I no longer will take them and begin preparations.

Again, thanks to everyone new and old for supporting the game all this time.

Wayne stopped taking submissions on May 1st, 2004, but allowed a 2 week grace period and officially closed submissions on May 15th, 2004.

On July 18th Wayne closed the forums.

DSL Tile acquired an exact copy of RVD from Wayne in hopes to resurrect it on RVA. That however was short lived as it would take tremendous amounts of work to change all the internal links from RVD to work on RVA. It has been talked about acquiring the RVD domain as soon as it expires and breathing life back into RVD.
